withholding vs. quarterly payments? california 1099 help!!

okay i need help. so i work a full time W2 job and part time 1099. got a federal refund for 2024 but owe california $1700. turbo tax laid out “quarterly payments” for me for 2025. will FTB be waiting on me to send them these specific payments, or can i just change my W2 withholding? not sure if because i owed over $1000, i need to specifically make quarterly payments, or anything along those lines. if i change my withholding i most likely won’t owe for 2025 but im not really sure because im not sure what amount it will change to. please help!! 😭
